About this tour
Travel through some of Scotland’s most iconic filming locations as we bring the world of Outlander to life. This is the perfect tour for first-time travelling Outlander fans looking to experience the magic of the series in the places it was brought to life. Highlights include Midhope Castle (Lallybroch), Jamie Fraser’s family home and one of the most recognisable locations from the series, as well as Doune Castle (Castle Leoch), seat of Clan MacKenzie and a key setting in the early episodes. You’ll also visit Blackness Castle, dramatically positioned on the Firth of Forth and used as Fort William, along with Linlithgow Palace, the birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots, which appeared as the infamous Wentworth Prison. The beautifully preserved village of Culross, which doubled as Cranesmuir, offers a true step back in time, with its cobbled streets and historic buildings perfectly capturing the atmosphere of 18th-century Scotland. Throughout the day, your guide will share behind-the-scenes insights, historical context, and stories that connect the real Scotland with the world seen on screen.
